Where I live in the Pfalz near the French border is equal distance between the Rheingau and Alsace. Albersweiler is a small village in the vineyards in this esteemed region rear two of its most famous estates, Rebholz and Dr. Wehrheim. For a writer, it is a further boon to be only a short drive from both Champagne and Burgundy. Piedmont is then just over the Alps. Peaceful, it is where I wake up each morning to the sound of birds chirping…to recalibrate my pen.
