Hong Kong aspires to be a wine hub

Click For Large ViewHong Kong is playing a full court press to become, if it is not already, the wine hub of Asia. Both Watson's and ASC had their house fairs earlier this week…and Wine & Dine attracted 160,000 guests to the harbour. A tasting of the 'Tre Bicchieri' from Gambero Rosso then took place at the Shangri-La, followed by the Hong Kong Wine Fair, which ended Saturday. Wine Futures begins today. I did a seminar on Cool Climate Pinot last Wednesday evening for students at the oldest wine school here and then had dinner with Julio Bastos at the China Club, where we drank - beyond the habitual Champagne - a 2005 Mouchao. Alentejo should have an interesting future.Comments
