2011 in Styria is very Promising

Click For Large ViewWilli Sattler in Gamlitz is keen on the latest vintage in Styria. Having harvested a touch later that Alois Gross, his 2011s appear to be a bit richer and, as with many of his colleagues, fermentations slow to finish, making tasting some of the young wines difficult. Not surprisingly, alcohol levels will be higher than in the previous years. What struck me here was an old vine Welsh Riesling. Although this is not normally my varietal, I would have enjoyed a second glass… Comments
