German Grand Cru in Tallinn

Click For Large ViewYesterday afternoon I conducted a Master Class on German Grand Cru with the Estonian Sommelier Association - Kristel Nömmik below is their president - in Tallinn. That was followed by a dinner at the ambassador's residence for guests from his world of business and politics. It is not often that I make a toast with the Joint Chief of Staff of any country's armed forces! I had met Christian Matthias Schlaga when he was posted in Delhi. If all German ambassadors were as passionate about their fatherland's wines, exports would soar. The highlight of the evening? A 2008 Schlossberg from Bernhard Breuer, a Pinot Noir with a French accent. Comments
